About Ms. Dixon...
Patricia B. Dixon, A longtime educator with the West Chester Area School District, passed away at home in Malvern, PA on August 18, 2009. She was 73.

Patricia was born on February 10, 1929.  Ms. Dixon was a 1950 graduate of Shippensburg State College with degrees in both Science and Spanish.

After teaching in the
Harrisburg School District for several years, Ms. Dixon joined the West Chester Area School District family in 1955. During her time with WCASD, she was a guidance counselor and classroom teacher at Henderson High School from 1955 to 1970, assistant principal at Henderson from 1970 to 1976, principal at East High School from 1976 to 1981, and administrative assistant at central office from 1981 to 1993. Ms. Dixon also completed both a masters of education (1955) and a doctorate of education (1959) at Penn State University. After a successful career in education, she retired in 1993.

Ms. Dixon, a true believer in the value of education, was a mentor and a friend to many throughout her years with the West Chester Area School District. After retiring, she continued her love of education and supervised student teachers at Rosemont College.

Patricia was a warm, compassionate, and humble woman, and a lover of all animals, especially poodles. Rouge and Lexi had been her most constant companions in recent years. She loved to walk along the shore at Rehoboth Beach to watch the dolphins swimming in the ocean early in the morning.
