The Neighborhood Event of the Year...

The Romig Road Victory Run brings Romig Road neighborhood communities together to honor Christopher Anthony and the Dave Barbato Family.

After all the race events for every member of your family, from Tiny Tussle (ages 5 and under) to a 5 K Run and Walk, we celebrate everyone's victory with a "good old-fashioned" block party, including great food and music all afternoon. We are looking forward to a fantastic day with fun with our families, meeting old friends, making new ones, and supporting our honorees.

The Romig Road Victory Run Fund is administered by the Chester County Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization. All contributions to the Romig Road Victory Run are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.

Our Honorees: Christopher Anthony with Libby, Julia, and DJ Barbato

This Year's Story...

In June 2003, at the age of 6, Christopher Anthony was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma cancer. His long, difficult, and courageous battle proved worthy enough to defeat this terrible disease. Today, 12-year-old Christopher has been cancer-free for 4 years!

This year's event will also honor the Dave Barbato family of the Steeplechase Road community of the Romig Road neighborhoods.  A few years ago Dave's wife, Liz, lost her battle with cervical cancer.

Run proceeds benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where Christopher spent a great deal of time during his chemotherapy treatments and operations. Christopher's continued wish is to help improve the Oncology playroom at CHOP with toys, books, art supplies, and video games. He knows first hand the joy these items bring to the children undergoing painful treatments and to their families supporting them.

Run proceeds will also benefit the Barbato Children Education Fund  for DJ, age 12, Libby, age 9, and Julia, age 6. Supporting the Barbato Children Education Fund  helps bring home the true purpose of the Romig Road Victory Run--to help a special family in one of our neighborhoods.

Sponsorships and Donations...

Please help us "change lives one mile at a time," by allowing us to help others win some of life's most difficult battles. Your generous contribution will make a difference.

As in past years, we expect to raise funds from all race activities, donations, block party registrations, and sponsorships. Platinum ($500+), Gold ($250), and Silver ($100)sponsorship opportunities are available. All three sponsorship levels includes recognition (corporate name and logo) on this year's event t-shirt.

For questions regarding sponsorships, please contact Jim and Marcy Chartrand, Co-Chairs of the Sponsorship Committee, at 610-804-6491.

Sponsorships must be received no later than August 29, 2008 in order to be recognized on this year's t-shirt.
