Purpose of the Maurice E. Warrick, Jr. Memorial Education and Scholarship Fund

The primary purpose of this fund shall be to support educational programs and award scholarships to deserving high school seniors at Chester High School in Chester, PA.

Maurice Warrick, Jr. demonstrated his commitment to education through his teaching career.  The Maurice Warrick, Jr. Memorial Education & Scholarship Fund, supporting educational programs and awarding scholarships to deserving high school seniors at Chester High School, aims to highlight this aspect of his life.

After graduating from Clarion University, Maurice returned to teach math at his high school alma mater, Ridley.  Two years later, Maurice went on to become a secondary math teacher at Chester High School, where he taught for his last twenty-eight years.  His dedication to teaching was also evident through his active participation in numerous organizations including the National and Pennsylvania State Education Association.  Maurice also served as Vice President, Treasurer, Chief Building Representative and State and National Delegate for the Chester Upland Education Association.  In addition to these professional associations, he was active in the community, and treasurer of the West Chester NAACP.
