About the Senior Games and Senior Picnic...
For over 25 years, two countywide events, the Senior Games and the Senior Picnic, have has been held for the Seniors of Chester County. The Games have traditionally been held in the Spring and the Picnic in September.  These have always been a special days for hundreds of seniors who live independently as well as in nursing homes and special care senior housing. Many of these residents rarely have a chance to leave their facility to come together for any reason, let alone to enjoy themselves at an event planned and presented just for them.

In an effort to control costs, these two events will be held together on the 23rd of September, 2010 at  the Brandywine Picnic Park in Lenape, where more than 600 attendees will come together to enjoy activities such as live entertainment, miniature golf, billiards, bingo, the petting zoo, a train ride through the park and a great picnic lunch.  But more importantly, it is a time for those who attend to socialize with old friends, and to meet others with whom they can relate.  Many of the seniors who come are totally independent; others come only with the help of an aid, while others attend in wheel chairs and close medical attention.  No matter how they are able to be there, they come to enjoy what for most of them was one of their most important social activities.
