Why
We're Doing This...
A new generation of philanthropic donors is
emerging throughout the United States. Members of the new
generation—commonly referred to as Generation X, born between 1964 and
1981—have different ideas about how to give and how to get involved in their
communities. Compared with generations that came before them, members of
this generation:
~ Desire to get engaged in meaningful, authentic and committed ways
~ Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to giving money by seeing how they
can affect the return on their social investment through their own skills,
money and abilities
~ Want to be in control of when and how they give
~ Want to witness the impact of their giving and want to be part of the
change they seek
Knowing that organizations that take deliberate steps to create programs
aimed at the interests and values of this generation are able to engage them
in profound ways, the Chester County Community Foundation launched ChesCo
Community Imprints in 2009. The Chester County Community Foundation seeks to
engage all people in its efforts to improve Chester County through legacy
philanthropy. |
