Mission

The Easttown Library is a community center that advances literacy and the love of reading and learning, and provides information through a variety of formats and technologies.

The purpose of the Easttown Library Foundation Endowment Fund is to
support the nonprofit operating, program and capital needs of the
Easttown Library Foundation.

The Easttown Library is pleased to announce the creation of the Elsie Jardine Legacy Society.

Fast Facts About the Easttown Library

     ~ Founded in 1905

     ~ Occupied 9 different locations in Berwyn prior to its current home

     ~ Current building opened in 2003

     ~ 2012 budget is $908, 500.

     ~ Approximately 78% of the Library's budget comes from Easttown Township, Chester County and the 
        Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

     ~ The remaining 22% comes from individual giving to the Foundation's Annual Fund and the Friends of
       Easttown Library, as well as monies raised through fees and overdue charges

     ~ 8,700 people consider Easttown Library their home library

     ~ Nearly 300,000 items were borrowed in 2011 (up 52% in the past 5 years)

     ~ In addition to 27 computer workstations, there are 80 places to read, study, meet, and use the WiFi in
      the Library.

     ~ Easttown Library is open 65 hours each week, 340 days per year
