Location The
Chester County Community Foundation is located in the heart of the West Chester
business district at 28 West Market Street. Our headquarters are in the historic
Lincoln Building, the site of the publication of the first Abraham Lincoln
biography.
The Community Foundation is directly across from the Chester
County Courthouse, on the south side of Market Street.
Parking Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and a
multi-level parking garage is located immediately behind the Community
Foundation building on South High Street.
Driving Directions From Philadelphia: Take the Schuylkill
Expressway westbound towards King of Prussia. Then take Route 202 south towards
West Chester. Take the first West Chester exit, Paoli Pike, and at the end of
the ramp make a right. Paoli Pike becomes Gay Street in West Chester; stay in
the left lane to enter the business district. Continue on Gay Street one block
past High Street (you will see the Courthouse on your left). Take a left turn on
Church Street and go one block to Market Street. Make a left on Market Street
and the Community Foundation is on your right in the middle of the
block. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike: Take the
Downingtown exit, Exit 23 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Follow the signs for
Route 100 south to West Chester. Route 100 will become High Street. At the
intersection of High and Gay streets take a right turn. Go one block and take a
left turn on Church Street and go one block to Market Street. Make a left on
Market Street and the Community Foundation is on your right in the middle of the
block.
From Oxford and other southern Chester County
locations: Take the Route 1 Bypass north to where it becomes old
Route 1 just past Kennett Square. Continue on Route 1 to the intersection of
Route 52, near Longwood Gardens. Take a left turn on Route 52 and follow the
signs to West Chester. At the intersection of Route 52 and High Street, a Burger
King will be on your left side, take a left towards the West Chester business
district. Go to the intersection of Gay Street, just past the Chester County
Courthouse, and take a left on Gay Street. Go one block and take a left turn on
Church Street and go one block to Market Street. Make a left on Market Street
and the Community Foundation is on your right in the middle of the block.
